Accessibility Statement for Client Connect
This is an accessibility statement from Streamline Corporation.
Measures to support accessibility
Streamline Corporation takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of Client Connect:
- Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
- Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Client Connect is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Additional accessibility considerations
1. Focus Order (2.4.3): Ensuring a logical and predictable navigation order when using the keyboard to traverse through the content.
2. Labels and Instructions (3.3.2): Providing clear and descriptive labels and instructions to help users understand and interact with the content effectively.
3. Keyboard Accessibility (2.1.1): Ensuring that all functionality is available from a keyboard interface, allowing users who cannot use a mouse to navigate and interact with the content.
4. Non-Text Contrast (1.4.11): Maintaining adequate contrast between non-text elements (like buttons and icons) and their backgrounds to enhance visibility for users with visual impairments.
5. Contrast (Minimum) (1.4.3): Ensuring a minimum contrast ratio between text and its background to make content readable for users with low vision.
6. Info and Relationships (1.3.1): Organizing content in a way that relationships and information are communicated clearly.
7. Name, Role, and Value (4.1.2): Ensuring that all user interface components are identified by their name, role, and value, which helps assistive technologies to convey the correct information to users.

- Browser: Google Chrome Assistive Technology: JAWS (Job Access With Speech) Operating System: Windows
- CSS/Visual TestingBrowser: Google Chrome
Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Client Connect, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for Client Connect:
- Zoom and Reflow on "Claims" and "Invoices" Pages: When zoomed to 400%, reflow issues disrupt the reading order. Buttons like "Document Export" and "Data Export" overlap because the layout is not designed to handle high levels of zoom. We are redesigning the layout to ensure proper reflow at all zoom levels and adjusting the positioning of buttons. For better accessibility, use a screen reader that can navigate without visual reflow issues.
- Page Resize on "Add Referral" Page: The page does not resize properly and causes reflow issues at 200% and 400%, leading to button overlap because the page layout is not optimized for large-scale resizing. We are updating the page design to support responsive resizing. Use keyboard navigation to access buttons that overlap with content.
- Focus Order on "Claims" Page: Clickable elements do not receive focus due to tabindex="-1". Elements intended to indicate collapse/expand state both show as expand because of incorrect use of tabindex and ARIA states. We are revising the focus management and ARIA roles to correctly indicate element states. Use screen reader shortcuts to navigate interactive elements.
- Accessible Names for Input Fields on “Add Referral”: Input fields like “Patient's Employer Address”-“City”, “Special Instructions”, and “Submitter Phone(s)”-“Cell” lack accessible names because input fields were not provided with appropriate labels. We are adding accessible names to all input fields to improve screen reader support. Use assistive technology that can infer context from adjacent text.
- Icon Labels and Zoom Issues: At the top icons “Downloads” and “Sign out” lack labels. Icons do not fit the screen when zoomed to 400% and disappear when scrolling because Icons are not labeled and the layout does not support high zoom levels. We are adding labels to icons and improving the layout to accommodate zooming. Use screen reader landmarks to navigate instead of relying on visual icons.
- Headings Structure: No headings are identified visually or programmatically, affecting navigation because Headings were not marked up correctly. We are restructuring the content to include proper headings. Use screen reader navigation shortcuts to identify sections.
- Icon Accessibility for "Claims" and "Invoices": Information under icons is not accessible unless hovered over because icons are not linked to input fields using aria-describedby. We are implementing aria-describedby to link icons with descriptive information. Use assistive technology that reads hover text without pointer interaction.
